Glitter Nails
As I was preparing to attend a wedding with my husband I decided to change my nail color. After hours of looking at Pintrest for inspiration I decided to pick a solid color and figure out embellishments later. I chose white and even though my polish was older went the process of painting my nails.
I let one coat air dry and thought it was odd that my nails were still tacky after 10 minutes. I applied a second coat anyways, big mistake! Since I was using white I applied a few coats to make sure the color was solid. Well my nails never fully cured and after about an hour they were still tacky. As we all know life still moves on even though our nails are wet and my day began to spiral down hill. Lets just say everything I touched messed up the paint and I grew more and more frustrated.
I ended up doing some stress shopping (aka retail therapy) and ended up buying two new paint colors. White (It’s All About Glam, Nicole by OPI) to replace my yucky one and an impulse buy, glitter (Set In Stone by Essie). I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase! Retail therapy always works for me.
To create my glitter nails I first applied OPI strengthener as a base coat. A few coats of It’s All About Glam by OPI, white usually takes a few extra coats to look solid. Then freehand the glitter at an angle starting at the base of the nail towards the tip. A few coats of glitter may be applied to get desired look. When dry apply top coat. The top coat helps keep the glitter from being caught in your hair or fabrics.
