Easy Marble Nails

On 16 August, 2012 by Jackie

So I’ve seen tons of photos and people who have done marble nails and it always looks amazing.  When I do it? It looks awful.  Hey I’m just not that talented when it comes to nail painting.  But I found this lovely photo on Birch Box that uses plastic wrap.  Finally something I can do! I love this idea on making the design easier.  (Please excuse the pictures of my feet.)

What you will need:

  • 2 different nail polish colors
  • Plastic wrap
  • Top Coat
  • Optional:scissors

Paint nails with base color (I used black) and allow to dry fully.  Once base is dry, cut or tear a piece of plastic wrap off the roll about the size of nail.  Paint nail with second polish color.

With polish still wet bunch up plastic wrap and blot on top of wet polish.  The plastic wrap will bump up the new polish color and expose the base color underneath, creating a marble effect! Repeat this on all nails and allow to dry fully.  Top with top coat to finish off your nails.

Mine didn’t come out as great as the example picture…but again nail painting is usually a challenge for me. Next time I will probably do different colors, I feel like they were not contrasting enough to show the true marble effect.
